Stichting Vluchteling

Since Balt Leenman started helping non-profit organisations make a positive impact with their mission, he has been impressed by the work of Stichting Vluchteling and the leadership of Tineke Ceelen. Tineke is a public figure in the Netherlands where she makes bold statements to politicians and the Dutch public about the degrading conditions refugees live in. In 2014, the organisation chose iFunds. That was still at the beginning of Salesforce for nonprofits; we too were less experienced than we are now. In 2017, the NGO decided to replace their then fundraising solution (Engage from iFunds) and invited several vendors. TwoPurpose highlighted Salesforce, which was selected. 

Arjan Oldenkamp and Balt met with Tineke and Renske Boetje, Head of Internal Affairs, the latest step in the process of exploring whether our missions complement each other. They did! Our missions match very well.  

A triple confirmed choice: Salesforce CRM for Fundraising and PME with AMP Impact from Vera Solutions  

• The first choice was to select Salesforce CRM, a solution to replace iFunds' outdated CRM. TwoPurpose helped with the choice of Salesforce CRM.
• The second choice: TwoPurpose as implementation partner. A consulting firm was hired to manage an RFP, a Request for Proposal. TwoPurpose was selected as implementation partner for Fundraising. The project was delivered within budget.
• The third choice: Vera Solutions and TwoPurpose with the PME solution. Two options were presented: one based on the standard Salesforce platform, the second based on AMP Impact from Vera Solutions. The second was chosen, TwoPurpose and Vera Solutions working together during this implementation.
  
  

The process

An official RFP (Request For Proposal) was submitted in 2018. What happened. Due to some vacancies, Stichting Vluchteling postponed the implementation. They hired a consulting firm for guidance and help in aligning the internal organisation. A new process was initiated for the Salesforce implementation. Fortunately, TwoPurpose able to brand itself as a preferred partner. 

The Salesforce implementation project

Generally, Salesforce implementation is done in an agile manner. Usually, the client is not aware of all the best practices that come with the Salesforce platform, nor the insights and best practices of the company that will lead the implementation. In this case, the consulting firm has already made many choices and part of their selection process was to publish a list of 280 requirements. TwoPurpose was selected and worked together in this project to deliver on time and on budget. 

An implementation in 2020

Although Stichting Vluchteling is a fundraising organisation that does not implement projects itself, it works closely with partners and reports on their impact (55 projects in 28 countries, 884,808 refugees were helped in 2018). Data was tracked in spreadsheets. TwoPurpose explored two possible solutions. One based onilla Salesforce (PMNC: Project Management for Nonprofit Cloud), a TwoPurpose framework based on the best practices of 8 previous implementations at MamaCash, Light for the World and vfonds, among others. The alternative was AMP Impact from Vera Solutions. Chosen was AMP Impact with TwoPurpose partnering with Vera Solutions for the AMP Impact implementation in 2020.
