Friends of Hope: the choice between iFunds and Salesforce
The challenge
Friends of Hope Foundation had a challenge: the Microsoft-based fundraising application was no longer supported by the vendor. An upgrade was necessary. Partly because of the high level of customisation, a re-implementation was chosen.
In discussion with TwoPurpose, Salesforce was considered, but current supplier iFunds was also asked to provide a proposal. Besides replacing the existing application, there was another wish: to unbundle "boarders", Centre for Pastoral Counselling (CPC), Foundation Chris and Foundation Prevent. In fact, they were also using Friends of Hope's CRM. There had to be a separate set-up for CPC. The new CRM system had to support fundraising and event organisation, such as Cycle for Hope.
The solution
TwoPurpose demonstrated a solution - based on the Salesforce platform - to Friends of Hope. Then, after several interactive workshops, both TwoPurpose and iFunds were asked to write a project proposal. Salesforce was chosen because of the platform's flexibility. This was remarkable because there is a lot of Microsoft knowledge in-house at Friends of the Hope. The application manager had studied both technologies well and chose the Salesforce platform. The project was divided into two separate assignments: the unbundling and implementation at CPC and the implementation at Friends of the Hope.
"TwoPurpose delivered on its promise in implementing our new fundraising solution. They work professionally, communicate well and are very thoughtful with us!"
- Axel Pothof, director Friends of Hope Foundation
The result
The project was delivered neatly within the agreed budget. "I don't want any surprises," director Axel Pothof had said at the start of the project. Corona struck, the lockdown was deployed in the exact week of the kick-off, during which all department heads involved would be present. Headlong, TwoPurpose took the organisation through a virtual kick-off. The entire implementation was eventually done online and went well!
Friends of Hope itself spent additional time optimising a number of processes with support from a TwoPurpose-consultant.Â
