COC Netherlands: LGBT nonprofit automates processes with Salesforce
Standardisation and centralisation of management
As an organisation with international reach, COC Netherlands faced three major IT challenges:
- Project management, especially internationally, involves many repetitive operations that were often performed manually. Project plans, contracts and grants needed to be better managed for more control over these matters.
- Member administration was done externally, which meant that relationships with members were not reaching their potential. COC Netherlands wanted to house relationship management internally to enable better knowledge of and interaction with donors.
- The administration of volunteers differed greatly between the 20 local offices, with a lack of unified approach or compliance with AVG legislation causing concern. Centralising this function would ensure that all volunteers were professionally managed.

A specialist solution for non-profit organisations
COC Netherlands engaged TwoPurpose to identify the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system that best met those challenges. Salesforce was chosen to enable the body to manage and automate tasks from a central, high-functioning, customisable platform.
Salesforce-native apps were then added for specific functions: Formtitan manages document signing and storage, along with online membership registration that connects directly to the membership database. Findock handles finances, generating digital invoices and linking revenue for accounting purposes, reliably automating financial data.
These were then combined with Salesforce's specialised non-profit package - NPSP - putting donation and programme data, including information on individual donors and volunteers, at COC's fingertips, along with a higher level of visibility into how funds move from donor to programme.

More automated, more impact
COC Netherlands has developed new apps for international projects and memberships of local associations, both based within the central Salesforce platform.
Director Marie Ricardo describes, "Our international projects finally have structure, with digital approval allowing our teams to work faster and with more confidence in the field. Memberships are automated already from the website, which means local associations have an up-to-date overview of members and funds at any time. At the same time, managing volunteers has never been easier."
Reducing manual operations across COC Netherlands means less administration, so more focus on work that matters. Strategic insight into international projects has improved, so senior management can easily assess the impact of COC's current work and focus on what comes next.
