Tech update: discover the latest features from Salesforce and Converse

Converse users will automatically have the new version with effect from 1 June. So what has changed?

Anonymising contacts

Anonymising personal data is an important aspect of the AVG. Donors can request the removal of their data from the records. Anonymising is an interesting option to keep donation records and campaign history intact while complying with the AVG. Converse can facilitate this for you from now on, though only in the PRO version.

Lightning wizards

Converse has a number of wizards, for example for entering a new deal. These wizards now have a modern display in Lightning.

Bug fixes

A number of bugs have been fixed:

  • Household name is automatically updated when a contact is deleted.

  • Date of next collection for annual agreements is calculated correctly for leap years.

  • When selection date equals the end date of the agreement, the term is still included in the collection.

 Search filters

Linking a payment profile or mandate to an agreement or term features a search filter. This allows you to link the right data faster.

Finally, the documentation has been updated for household names.

 Salesforce Summer '19 release

As many as three times a year, new features are added to Salesforce. In June, the Summer '19 release will be automatically activated in your org. Below are a few highlights that may also be of interest to your organisation.

 Improved related lists

For objects, related items are displayed in a Related List. The capabilities of those lists are greatly enhanced thanks to the Enhanced Related List feature. Up to 10 columns can now be displayed instead of 4. The columns are easy to sort and contacts can be added to a campaign directly from the list, for example.

 Related list filters

Another improvement is filtering in related lists. This can now be done directly with a few clicks, without going through dialogue screens to find the right filter fields.

 Help in the app

To help your colleagues use Salesforce in the best possible way, you can set up pop-ups in various places. With the pop-ups, you can give tips and refer to additional documentation. You can set how often and during what period the pop-ups are shown.

 Process builder notifications

In Salesforce, processes can be automated with the Process Builder. One new feature is adding notifications. An example: suppose in the process a donor is flagged as a Major Donor, you can make a notification of this appear to the Account Manager.

 myTrailhead

No doubt you already know Salesforce's online learning environment Trailhead. myTrailhead is an extension for learning processes in your own organisation. For example, you want employees to learn the procedures for purchasing, requesting leave or approving a grant request. From now on, you can put that knowledge into your own trailheads, complete with scores and reports. However, using myTrailhead requires additional licences.
