On Thursday 4 March, g-company organised a virtual roundtable session in Google Meet with partner managers of non-profit organisations.
Partner managers are tasked with finding and maintaining business relationships for financial support (Major Donors). However, business relationships, also called the entrepreneurs, have much more to offer than just money. So the question remains; how do you create more synergy with your business relations and achieve long-term and reciprocal partnerships? This question was discussed in detail during the roundtable session on 4 March. The session was facilitated by Balt Leenman.
The Google Meet session featured engaging conversations. Thus, everyone was carefully addressed. This led to an important question that we then discussed in depth: how do you maintain relationships in this lock-down period of the corona crisis? One of the participants had a nice example in this regard, where a cake was delivered to a business relation to be enjoyed with a cup of coffee during the virtual meeting.
We discovered that business partner managers are entrepreneurial, they don't let themselves be taken for granted. The lockdown has disadvantages and advantages. There is less travel time, but as a result we have become more accessible. Unfortunately, the consequence is that it does feel less personal. An active participant then came up with a cool idea: go for a walk with your business partner.
Of course, we also talked about the main topic: how can you make a real connection with the 'core competence' of the entrepreneur and your organisation? This is very different for each non-profit. There appears to be a lively interest in discussing this further. No sooner said than done. In other words: extended due to success!
