Salesforce Winter '20 release
It is a good tradition that Salesforce makes a major update to its platform three times a year. Usually you don't have to do anything for this, but it is advisable to investigate the new features. Possibly, solutions have been realised that will add value for your organisation. From 12 October, most orgs will be running on the Winter '20 release.Â
One important change is that the Lightning interface will be selected by default for organisations working with both Classic and Lightning. Of course, it is possible to switch back to Classic, but it is a clear signal that Salesforce would like to see as many customers as possible migrate to Lightning. If your organisation is still (partially) on Classic and considering a migration to Lightning, please contact g-company for tailored advice. Migrating is sometimes easy, but it can also be quite a chore!
What else stands out in this update: improved reporting capabilities, such as row counting, row-level formulas and conditional colour assignment. The mobile app also gets a refresh. All changes can be found in the release notes.
FinDock release
FinDock (formerly StepOrange) products are used by many non-profits for gift processing. An update will be implemented on 19 October. For example, it will become possible to schedule all collection runs for an entire year. Furthermore, several issues have been resolved, such as double booking of a donation via Buckaroo.
